The mini facelift is a popular choice for patients who are in their late 40s to 50s. If performed early enough, mini facelifts can prevent the signs of aging before they become fully apparent.
This procedure can be customized to address trouble spots, such as the jowls or mid face. Because mini face lift recovery is quicker than a full facelift, the procedure is sometime called a “weekend facelift.”
For those with more severe aging of the face, a full face lift or mid facelift may be recommended. On the other hand, non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures may be enough for those with minor signs of aging. These include BOTOX® injections, Fraxel Laser, and/or dermal fillers. During your consultation, our board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Heppe, Dr. Bautista, and Dr. Aflaki will suggest the best procedures to achieve your goals.

What You Should Know about a Mini Facelift
Mini facelift surgery is a modified full facelift that is often called an “S lift” because it utilizes shorter and smaller incisions. These incisions are usually made behind the ears or in the hairline behind the temples. Muscles are tightened but not cut as may be necessary in a full facelift.
The surgery takes approximately 2-1/2 hours to complete and can be performed in our fully accredited facility in Northern Virginia under a general anesthetic.
Mini Facelift Recovery
Recovery from a mini facelift takes about a week. You can expect some minor bruising and swelling, but this is less than with a full facelift. Any discomfort can be managed with pain medication.
